Ofsted April 2010
"Students' progress is accelerating" says Ofsted
Globe Academy is an 'all-through' school for 3-18 year olds. It is mixed, non-selective and has no religious affiliations.
At Globe, we aim to ensure that every child leaves school with the qualifications and skills to go on to higher education or the career of their choice.
To achieve this, we ensure that:
- Globe has a calm and positive environment, where pupils can learn and teachers can teach
- pupils are proud of a strong Globe identity, starting with a smart new uniform
- pupils who do well will be stretched and challenged and those who need more help will be given all the extra support they need
- the curriculum has a strong focus on English and Mathematics, so that all pupils can access the rest of the curriculum confidently
- we maximise the potential of our performing arts specialism
- we build strong links locally and around the world, so that every pupil has truly global horizons.
The multi-million pound investment in our academy's buildings will provide us with state-of-the-art facilities, including a full-sized sports hall and a specialist performing arts block. See the plans here.
On our first day as an academy the Secretary of State for Education, Ed Balls MP, joined us to welcome year 7 pupils on their first day at secondary school and to see the plans for our new school.
